Job Description
The successful candidate will work closely with executive leadership, the Board and portfolio companies to drive growth, improve performance and create sustainable shareholder value.
Key ResponsibilitiesLead the annual strategic planning, execution and performance-monitoring process.
Ensure business strategies align with the organisation’s vision and long-term objectives.
Evaluate portfolio performance and develop strategies to optimise returns and manage risks.
Provide hands-on strategic support to underperforming portfolio companies.
Conduct detailed analyses and lead business turnaround and growth initiatives.
Support the evaluation of new investments and potential divestments.
Monitor industry trends, competitors and macroeconomic developments.
Present strategic insights and recommendations to executive leadership and the Board.
Prepare thought-leadership content for investors, regulators and institutional stakeholders.
Build relationships with portfolio-company leaders and external partners.
Lead and mentor the Strategy team, promoting high performance and collaboration.
RequirementsBachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Economics or a related field.
An MBA or relevant postgraduate qualification is preferred.
10–15 years’ experience in a senior strategy role within a holding company, private equity firm or management consulting organisation in Nigeria.
Proven experience in corporate strategy, investment analysis, portfolio management and business turnaround.
Strong understanding of Nigeria’s business, market and regulatory environment.
Excellent analytical, financial-modelling and problem-solving skills.
Exceptional leadership, communication, presentation and stakeholder-management abilities.
A strategic, entrepreneurial and results-driven mindset.
