Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement strategies to drive merchant banking growth, deposits, and loan disbursements.
Lead the acquisition of SMEs and medium-sized businesses, expanding the bank’s merchant customer base.
Drive merchant account growth, POS terminal deployment, and active usage of payment solutions.
Develop initiatives to increase merchant engagement, transaction volumes, and product adoption.
Drive merchant lending solutions while maintaining sound credit risk management and portfolio quality.
Collaborate with internal teams to improve digital banking, payment gateway services, and transaction management solutions.
Identify opportunities to expand merchant deposits, lending, and other banking services.
Monitor business performance against targets, including merchant acquisition, deposits, loans, POS usage, and profitability.
Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements, risk policies, and operational guidelines.
RequirementsBachelor’s Degree in Finance, Banking, Business Administration, or a related field. An MBA or relevant professional certification is an advantage.
Minimum of 8–10 years’ experience in merchant banking, SME banking, or payment processing, with at least five years in a leadership role.
Strong knowledge of merchant banking products, digital payment solutions, and credit risk management.
Proven ability to drive business development, merchant acquisition, deposit mobilisation, and loan growth.
Excellent leadership, relationship management, negotiation, and strategic planning skills.
Strong commercial awareness and ability to manage business performance against targets.
